Pabata Fish Mustard Curry




Ingredients: 
Sl. No. Ingredients Quantity Style
1 1 Big Illish Fish 500 gram
2 Potato 1 Cubical
3 Onion 1
4 Dry Mango 1/2
5 Green chilli 3
6 Mustard 3 tablespoon
7 Cumin 1 tablespoon
8 Whole garlic 1
9 Turmeric Powder 1 tablespoon
10 Tomato paste 2 tablespoon
11 Red chilli 2
12 Salt to taste 1 tablespoon
13 Coriander powder 1/2 tablespoon
14 Mustard Oil 3 tablespoon
15 Panchaphutan 1 tablespoon

     Note:
     Panchphutana (1 table spoon) - Mix of cumin, mustard, methi, nigella seeds (1/2 Pinch of each items)


  1. Cut the fish in to pieces and wash it ,Then add some turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt & keep aside for 30 min..Heat a pan in medium heat. Add some oil to fry the fish let of 5 /6 min, then keep them aside in a paper towel to soak the oil.
  2. Grind the Mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chili & garlic – This paste is known as Mustard paste (In Odisha known as Besara).
  3. Then cut the the potato into cubical shape.
  4. Again add some more oil in the heated non-stick pan & add panchaphutan & red chilli , when it start crackling add the sliced potato & fry for 2/3 min.

  1. Then add the onion & fry it till golden brown, then add mustard paste,turmeric powder,coriander powder salt, green chili, tomato chopped.



  1. At last add the dry mango. Let it boil for 10/ 15 min.(medium flame)

  1. Add fried fish in to the curry & again boil it for 2 more min.

  1. Garnish with coriander leaves.Serve hot with plane Rice






Small Fishes Fry (Pohala Macha Bhaja)



Ingredients:
Sl. No. Ingredients Quantity Style
1 Pohala Machha (Small fishes) 500 gram
2 Mustard Oil 4 tablespoon
3 Mustard Powder 1/4 tablespoon
4 Red chili Powder 1/2 tablespoon
5 Salt to taste


Preparation:
  1. Wash and clean the fish properly.


  2. Mix the cleaned fish with salt, turmeric powder and chilli powder. Leave for 15 minutes.




  3. In a Pan heat the oil till the smoking point. Fry the fish till they are properly cooked. 



    .
  4. Take out the fish & then keep them aside in a paper towel to soak the oil, now the small fishes (Pohala macha) are ready & Serve hot with Water Rice (Pakhala bhatta).




Illishi Fish Mustard Curry




Note:
